Search committee created for new Alumni Office executive

Friday, July 12 was Jennifer A. McDonough’s last day as an administrator at Stevens. McDonough officially joined the Stevens community as the Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations (VPDAE) only seven months prior on January 14.

The Stute reached out to Stevens Division of Communications and Marketing (DCM) about the reason behind her departure. However, due to privacy reasons, it could not be disclosed, according to Thania Benios, the Director of Public Relations. Soon after her departure, President Farvardin promptly issued an email to faculty and staff. In it, he announced that until a replacement for McDonough was found, the Associate Vice President, Dawn DaSilva, would “oversee the day to day operations of the Division of Development and Alumni Engagement.”

During her time here, McDonough led the “development and alumni engagement efforts in support of Stevens’ core mission, strategic vision, and campaign priorities focusing on student success, faculty excellence, and a vibrant campus.”

Days into the start of a new semester at Stevens, an announcement was made that a search committee for a new VPDAE had been created. An interview committee had been formed, comprised of faculty and staff members from different departments. In the announcement, President Farvardin expressed his gratitude to his colleagues who have agreed to be a part of the search process.

Despite the departure of McDonough, the Power of Stevens campaign has already managed to raise $167.3 million and, according to Benios, “is fully committed and actively working to meet and exceed” this ambitious goal.
