Stevens competed against nine of the top-11 teams in the region, as well as eight teams ranked top-40 in the nation. The race also contained seven All-Americans from last year's cross country championships. The top-seven runners for the Ducks all ran under 30 minutes in the 8k race. Senior Philip Mainwaring
finished 139 out of 238 runners with a time of 28:29. Seniors Joseph Fullam and Michael Hoffman both ran strong races as they finished with a 28:25 and 28:37 clocking, respectively.
First-year performers Steven Chick, Juan Carlos Coronel and Brad Antes rounded out the scoring with times of 28:28, 28:48 and 29:42, respectively. Head Coach John Crawford was pleased with the outcome of today's competition.
"This was a great day of racing for both our men and women's programs as we finished in the thick of a group of teams that in past years would always trounce Stevens runners. Phil ran a very solid race showing he is coming back into championship form," said Crawford.
