When Hare goes out to collect food, he gets chased away by a giant blob that he is convinced eats him. After this ordeal, he meets Guu, an adorable little girl that his mother brought home. Hare is fascinated by her and everything seems too good to be true…which it is. The next day, Guu looks very bored and bland, completely different from the charming little girl from the day before. Of course, the only one to notice any difference is poor Hare. While touring Guu around the village, they come across Hare's cute pet bird, which Guu promptly eats. It turns out that Guu has another world in her stomach, filled with all sorts of random things, like a young lady, and show-offish school boy, a cat with dozens of legs, and Hare's pet bird. It's all too strange…what can Guu be?
Hare Guu is… insane. From the start of the show, things are crazy for poor Hare. It is quite obvious that this show is very creative. Vivid colors are used to create the goofy mood, the adult characters are beautifully drawn, and the child characters look like funny, cute blobby people. The concept of the strange being, Guu, and the world that exists in her stomach is quite unique. The series has some random, funny parodies but uses a lot of strange, weird situations for its hilarity and entertainment. Hare Guu is quite hilarious and will make your head explode with its insanity.
The Stevens Anime Club will be showing Hare Guu on Friday September 29th, October 5th & October 12th at 9PM in B118.
