Senators representing the rising sophomore, junior, and senior classes will assume their new responsibilities this coming Sunday. The incoming senators will be faced with issues such as the ongoing Jacobus renovations, the implementation of the five new SGA committees, and the reconciliation of the Honor Board and SGA Constitutions. The senators for the rising sophomore class are Patrick Gleeson, staff writer for The Stute, Briana Gilmartin, Layout Editor for the Stute, Brett Lipschultz, Jake Bagdonas Gregory Bosch and Abel Alvarez. The rising sophomore class however went into the election with one spot unfilled. The SGA encouraged students of the rising sophomore class to submit senator applications with a few students eventually doing so. The Stute was informed midweek that Alvarez will be filling in the last spot.
David Pfeffer, photographer for the Stute, Brandon Haverberg, Ruchi Amin, Neha Govil, Valentin Riazanov, and Stephanie Smith are the rising junior class senators. For fourth and fifth year students, the senators are Ryan Bennick, Peter Garafano, former Business Manager for the Stute, Andy Kaplan, Eileen Para, Ronen Peled, Steven Pylypchuk and Ward Sandler. The incoming freshman class will elect their senators in after arriving on campus. Chris La Pilusa, a member of the Publicity Committee, said "Based on the responses from the senators at the senate debate. I'm very excited about the new senate coming in. I feel that they have a very fresh perspective on things and, with the opportunity, they will be able to get things done and move the SGA in a new and better direction."
The author of this article was one of the students who submitted an application for the vacancy in the rising sophomore class.
