On Friday afternoon, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's golf team finished in first place out of three teams during the Centenary College Match, which was played at the High Bridge Hills Golf Club (Par 71 - 6,189 yards) in High Bridge, N.Y. Junior Tom Merriam captured the individual title with a round of 83, which was a solid score considering the cold and windy conditions. Merriam is the first-ever first-place finisher in the history of the Stevens golf program, which is in its first season as a varsity sport.

The Ducks captured the team championship with a combined scored of 349. Centenary was second with a 368. Arcadia University finished in third place with a one-day total of 394.

Senior Jake Heffernan and sophomore John Kearns both shot an 88 for the Ducks. Junior Scott Mozeleski turned in a 90 on the day. Junior Chris Dunderdale ended up with a 91 for Stevens.

The Ducks will be back in action on Monday as they take part in the Fairleigh Dickinson University Match at Morris County Country Club in Morristown, N.J. That match will start at 1 p.m.
