As an opening note, last week radio personality Don Imus was fired as the World News article was being written. Sadly, my research didn't uncover the news until after the article was finished, as it was buried under the reports of Governor Jon Corzine's auto accident at the same time. Although it is believed that he will find a new show, most likely with satellite radio as Howard Stern and Opie and Antony have done in the past. However he will likely have to wait as Sirius and XM, the two leading satellite radio providers, are currently going through a merger review by the Federal Trade Commission.
New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine was revealed to have not been wearing his seatbelt during last Thursday's serious crash. Although he was not ejected from the car when it crashed at 91 mph, it is believed that his serious injuries would have been greatly reduced if he had been wearing the safety device.
In a significant about-face, the Supreme Court voted to support a law banning the late-term "partial birth" abortion procedure. The 5-4 decision reverses a ruling that struck down a similar ban that was enacted in 2000.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said that the United States has already lost the war in Iraq, and that any effort to add more troops to the conflict would not make a big difference. His comments come on the heels of yesterday's record violence in Iraq.
