As students start to sign up for housing for the coming school year, many of them are coming to realize that Stevens has yet to sign a contract for Sodexho to continue to be our food provider. During a recent interview with Dean Ballantyne, she described the agreement as "still in negotiations" with the hope of a contract signed by the end of the month.
With a contract still not signed, the question as to what will be done in Peirce over the summer is still up in the air. However when discussing the possible renovations, Dean Ballantyne was quick to note that the concerns which students have expressed, namely about a grill to be added as an island within the Peirce room, are to be addressed. A commitment to allow Peirce to serve as a multi-function room, on a limited basis, when not in use for daily dining services was reiterated. This was done to calm the nerves of those students who fear losing Peirce as a viable location to host activities.
As for meal plans, due to the lack of a signed contract, meal plans cannot be confirmed. As such, Stevens will send out updates as information becomes available after the contract is signed. Students can expect the information on the final status of the meal plan to be sent out over the summer.
