Sophomore attack Dana Perriello's goal with 2:40 remaining in the second overtime period proved to be the difference as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team claimed a thrilling 17-16 win over archrival Manhattanville College on Friday evening at GoValiants.com Field in Purchase, N.Y. Freshman midfielder Alyssa Pigott recorded a team-high seven points from four goals and three assists as the Ducks evened their record at 4-4 (1-0 Skyline Conference) on the year.

Tied at 14-all at the end of regulation, Stevens scored the first three goals in overtime to take control. Freshman attack Katie Lalli put the Ducks ahead 15-14 midway through the first extra session as she scored off a feed from Perriello. Just 40 seconds later, sophomore defender/midfielder Cassidy Callahan converted on a pass from Pigott to give Stevens a two-goal edge.

A little over two minutes into the second overtime period, Perriello netted her second goal of the game as the Ducks built a 17-14 lead. Sophomore attack Abbe Grimes and junior midfielder Cory Alcorn both scored in the final two minutes of the overtime to bring Manhattanville (2-4, 0-1 Skyline) within one goal, but the Valiants were unable to find the equalizer in the closing seconds.

In addition to her seven points, Pigott led the Ducks with six draw controls. Callahan finished with four goals and four draw controls as Stevens snapped a brief two-game losing streak. Perriello totaled four points from two goals and two assists. Lalli had three goals, one assist and three draw controls. Junior attack Liz Mather added two goals, two assists and two draw controls. Junior goalkeeper Stephanie Linder picked up her third win of the season by making 12 saves in 63 minutes of action.

Alcorn led the Valiants with eight goals as Manhattanville lost for the fourth time in its last five games. Sophomore defender/midfielder Colleen Holahan and Grimes chipped in with three goals apiece. Junior goalkeeper Mary Albano took the loss as she allowed all 17 goals while making seven saves.
