After a lengthy investigation, Hoboken Police took senior Daniel Jabbour and sophomores Timothy Diehl and Chris Schoen into custody at approximately 2 Saturday morning, Stevens Police Chief Tim Griffin told The Stute. A Hoboken Police Department (HPD) report later identified a fourth student, Bohyam Yoo. Yoo is a student from Fairleigh Dickinson University. HPD charged all three Stevens students with one count of possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute in the third degree, and one count of conspiracy to distribute a CDS in the third degree, Griffin said. The arrests took place at the Jabbour residence on the 10th Street block of Washington St., Griffin added, after police executed a search warrant and found an "unknown quantity" of marijuana.
"Marijuana in a quantity of one ounce or more but less than five pounds including any adulterants or [sic.] dilutants, … is guilty of a crime of the third degree," according to N.J.S.A. § 2C:35-5. If convicted, the students face a fine of up to $25,000, as per N.J.S.A. § 2C:35-5, and a prison sentence between three and five years, as per N.J.S.A. § 2C:43-6.
Griffin said that the Hoboken Police Street Crimes Unit has been investigating the case for several months, and informed Stevens Police (SITpo) a few weeks ago of the ongoing investigation. Head of Campus Security and Vice President of Student Development Joseph Stahley added, "[Stevens Police officer] Sgt. Collins was present at the arrest, which took place off-campus, as a courtesy to us."
HPD's official arrest report cited Jabbour with Possession with Intent to Distribute, Possession of 50 grams, and Possession of 50 grams within 1,000 feet of a school, and Manufacture and Distribution of Narcotics. The report shows that Schoen was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia, Conspiracy to Distribute within 500 Feet of Public Property, and Conspiracy to Distribute 1,000 Feet from a School. Diehl was charged with Possession of CDS, Possession of Paraphernalia, and a violation of 2c:39-3f(1), a law prohibiting hollow point bullets. According to Schoen, however, his court papers indicated that none of the paraphernalia charges were kept, and a charge of conspiracy to distribute 500 feet from a park was added. Schoen also noted that he is sure that the police cited all students involved with conspiracy charges, despite what the police arrest report says. This matches what SITpo originally told The Stute.

What is the point of publishing the girlfriend's name? If she declined to comment, you accomplish nothing by putting her name, much less her year and major. (Continued…)

The name dropping is ridiculous. Unless the author of this article had something personal against the girlfriend, why the hell would the author use her name? Poor judgement. (Continued…)

The name dropping is indeed ridiculous, and this story is just poorly written. Did David (the author) erase his comment where he admitted the mistakes and placed the blame on both him and the editors? You acknowledge you shouldn't mention the girlfriend's name, but did it anyway, can you explain this? The only explanation seems that you got excited with a story like this, compared to the regular crap you find in The Stute, but at least you maintained the poor quality. (Continued…)

I agree, the name-mentioning is a horrible and unnecessary intrusion into private citizen's privacy.
you're the media - don't abuse your privileges just to get facts out there. (Continued…)

I am quite disappointed with The unprofessionalism demonstrated by Stute in this article; there should have been no mention of the social affiliations of the accused parties. (Continued…)

Thanks a lot for making us sound even worse than we had already been portrayed. It's not just that you failed to honor your promise that Chris' comments would be off the record (and misquoted him, to boot). (Continued…)

wasn't the chi phi house searched? i think if that happened, it warrants mentioning. otherwise, it's just perpetuating negative stereotypes about greek life that occasionally are semi-accurate. (Continued…)

"Unreachable for comment" indicates that you attempted to get in touch with us, which you did not. Please don't lie. Furthermore, I don't know what relevance iWP or its employees have to any of these charges, so I don't know why you had to needlessly drag us into this. (Continued…)
