Track and Field Teams Compete at ECAC Championships

Senior Matt Savary (Santa Clarita, Calif.) along with the distance medley relay team and the 4x800 relay team competed at the ECAC Indoor Championships this past weekend in Middletown, Conn.
Savary was the only point scorer on the team as he finished 8th in the 400-meters (51.14 seconds). He also earned a 21st-place finish in the 200-meters (23.29 seconds). The distance medley relay team comprised of junior Mike Hoffman (Franklin Township, N.J.), Savary, junior John Hoffman (Franklin Township, N.J.) and senior Phil Mainwaring (Washington, Pa.) ran well with a time of 10:34.63, but were unable to better their school record in the event. The 4x800 team of John Hoffman, Mainwaring, freshman Kevin Morgera (West Nyack, N.Y.), and Mike Hoffman ran an 8:09.16, bettering their own school record of 8:16.04. Mike Hoffman also competed in the 1,000 meter race and earned a ninth-place finish with a time of 2:36.25.
