Equestrian Team at Places Fifth at All-Region Show

The Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team earned a fifth-place finish at the Zone 2, Region 1 All-Region Show on Sunday afternoon at Briarwood Farm. Stevens finished fifth out of 12 teams with 28 points. Centenary College finished first with 38 points, followed by Drew University (32), U.S. Military Academy (30) and Pace University (29). Sarah Lawrence University placed sixth with 24 points, William Paterson University placed seventh with 18 followed by SUNY New Paltz (16), Vassar College (12), Marist College (8) and Manhattanville College and Bard College (6).
Freshman Rosemary Garofalo led the Ducks with a first-place finish in the novice flat and fourth-place finish in the novice fences. Freshman Kahri Olsen earned a third-place finish in the intermediate fences and second on the intermediate flat and earned 9 team points. Junior Katie Weatherall totaled four points on the day as she finished sixth in the open fences and fourth on the open flat. Freshman Jamie Fishbein claimed second-place honors in the walk-trot cantor, while freshman Connie Maglaras finished sixth in the walk trot.
Individually, freshman Katherine Crane finished second in the advanced walk-trot cantor and senior Katie Haskins totaled a fifth-place finish in the novice flat.
