Equestrian Team Earns First Place Finish at Centenary

The Stevens Institute of Technology equestrian team earned its first-ever first-place finish and claimed high-point honors at the Centenary Show on Saturday afternoon. Stevens finished first out of 12 teams with 33 points. Pace University finished at a close second with 30 points, followed by Sarah Lawrence College (29), Centenary College (27), U.S. Military Academy (18), William Paterson University (17), Bard College (15), SUNY New Paltz (11), Drew University (9), Vassar College (8), Marist College (6) and Manhattanville College (1).
Freshman Kahri Olsen led the Ducks and was named reserved high point rider of the day. Olsen finished first in the intermediate flat and second on the intermediate fences and earned 12 points. Junior Katie Weatherall totaled five points on the day as she finished fourth in the open fences and fifth on the open flat. Freshman Rosemary Garofalo earned first-place honors in the novice flat and fifth-place in the novice fences. Freshman Jamie Fishbein claimed first-place honors in the walk-trot cantor, while freshman Connie Maglaras finished sixth in the walk trot.
Individually, freshman Katherine Crane finished fourth in the advanced walk-trot cantor and sophomore Courtney Lorah totaled a second-place finish in the intermediate flat and fourth-place in the intermediate fences.
