On Friday, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team will make its debut on DuckCast when it hosts Ithaca College at 7 p.m. from the De Baun Athletic Complex. Fans that can not attend the game will be able to watch it as a live video webcast through www.duckcast.com. Computer configuration and setup instructions appear on the DuckCast homepage.

Stevens, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation in the first United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches' Poll of the 2007 season, opened the year with a 22-1 victory over Centenary College on Wednesday. The Ducks (1-0) are led by a veteran group of 11 seniors and are seeking their seventh straight conference title and NCAA tournament berth. Senior midfielder Mark Bielicky is a two-time STX/USILA All-American. He was also selected as the Preseason Midfielder of the Year for 2007 by Inside Lacrosse and Face-Off Yearbook.

Meanwhile, junior attack J.R. Oreskovich was named as a preseason second-team All-American. Senior defender Josh Smith , junior attack John Dolny and sophomore defender Chris Ford were all selected as All-America honorable mentions.

Ithaca is currently 1-0 on the season following a 21-12 win at Lycoming College on Saturday. In that game, sophomore attack Mike Cintineo scored four goals and dished out a career-high three assists to lead the Bombers past the Warriors.

Ithaca had three players earn preseason All-America honors this year. Senior goalkeeper Dennis Butler, junior attack Matt Nelligan and sophomore defender Neth Wiedemann each received honorable mention.

With Stevens set to join the Empire 8 in 2008, Friday's match-up with Ithaca will provide a preview for the Ducks in terms of what lies ahead next season. Currently, the Empire 8 features three of the top 12 teams in the nation according to the USILA Coaches' Poll. Defending champion Rochester Institute of Technology is ranked fourth. Nazareth College is two spots behind Ithaca at No. 12 overall.

Friday's contest is a Duck Country game for the men's lacrosse team. Stevens Athletics requests that all students and fans wear black to support the Ducks. In addition, there will be a special halftime shooting contest involving members of the Greek community as the Department of Athletics celebrates Greek Night at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
