Freshman Leo Dormann and junior Brandon MacWhinnie improved to 7-0 against conference competition, but the Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team dropped decisions to Gettysburg College (27-21) and Johns Hopkins University (27-22) on Saturday afternoon in Hoboken, N.J. Sophomore Mark Bistis also picked up two wins by pin for the Ducks. Freshman Kyle Brisson earned wins by forfeit in both matches.

Stevens earned wins in the first two weight classes against Gettysburg, with Brisson and Bistis to give the Ducks a quick 12-0 lead. Dormann earned his first win of the day at 149 pounds over Matthew Shank, 8-4. MacWhinnie gave Stevens a 21-12 edge with his first win of the day at 165 pounds. However, the Ducks dropped their last four weight classes and were defeated by a close 27-21 margin.

Stevens held the advantage over Johns Hopkins, 22-9, after Brisson, Bistis, Dormann and MacWhinnie were all successful in their respective weight classes. After Stevens was forced to forfeit at 174 pounds, Eric Fishel earned a win by pin for the Blue Jays to bring the score to within one, 22-21. Stevens was defeated at 197 pounds and heavyweight and suffered another close loss, 27-22.
