Smokin' Aces

Because there is not a movie playing in Burchard this weekend, I decided to see Smokin' Aces, a fantastic suspense movie starring Jeremy Piven, as Buddy "Aces" Israel, and Ryan Reynolds, as Richard Messner.
The movie begins with an FBI sting on a mob hit. Buddy Israel, known as "Aces," is a magician with strong mob connections. But when he decides to cooperate with the FBI, the mob has decided to stop the case from ever going to court. A bounty of one million dollars is placed on Israel's head, which leads to all sorts of hit men coming after him. At this point, the FBI decides to send Agent Messner to protect Israel and make sure that he is able to testify.
This movie is not simply a shoot-em-up action film. Rather, it's extremely intense, and reminiscent of Pulp Fiction in the way that the story line comes together. Furthermore, some may find it darker than expected, as there is a lot of very emotional scenes. Also, one needs to really pay attention to the movie as there are many plot twists that may be missed if you stop paying attention for even a brief moment.
In total, this is an excellent movie. The viewer is kept enthralled the entire way due to the huge amount of suspense. It is rated R and can be seen in theatres.

This movie was great entertainment. Don't go if you expect to see anything realistic though
