The recent election of Michael Manzella and Jon Matos to the SGA as President and Vice President respectively, has brought with it an entire new cabinet of people.
The Cabinet positions are Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and the Chairperson of the Committee on Student Interests (CCSI). Out of these, only the Vice-President is elected by the students as part of the official ticket. The other positions are filled through the recommendation of the President and the approval of the Senate.
Here are the individuals who will be acting as Secretary, Treasurer, and CCSI for the next year.
Michael Bocchinfuso- Treasurer mbocchin@stevens.edu
Bocchinfuso is a 4/5 Electrical Engineering student with a long history of involvement at Stevens. Among his activities are WCPR, SIT-TV, Gear and Triangle, and Peer Mentor.
"As SGA Treasurer, I have one big goal: ensure fiscal responsibility on the part of the SGA. I feel that our most recent treasurer, Bruce, did an excellent job at this, both with the level of documentation of the finances and with his practices on the Finance Committee, and I intend to build upon his work in those respects and keep accurate records for future treasurers."
The Treasurer acts as as Chairperson of the Senate Budget Committee. Bocchinfuso will handle and record all fiscal transactions of the SGA over the next year.
"I know a lot about what RSOs want but can't budget for or have to sacrifice in order to just get some money. There are a lot of rules set forth in the budgeting process that my fellow students constantly gripe about, and the SGA should accommodate those very students it represents by reforming [the rules]."
Mary Kelly- CCSI mkelly1@stevens.edu
Kelly is a 2/4 Co-op majoring in Engineering Management. She is an RA in Jonas and takes her responsibilities to Resident Life very seriously, serving on the Dining and Library committees and working as a tour guide for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
