The boutique "Down To Earth" has added a fashionable touch to mid-town Hoboken for the past 12 years. Located at 527 Washington Street, you won't have to travel far from campus to check out the selection of clothing, shoes, belts, bags, and accessories for men and women. The storefront window always attractively displays a few of the newest, trendiest items the store is currently selling.
Some popular designers for women that are frequently carried are Paige, Ella Moss, Free People, and Plenty. For men, they have a wide selection of Lacoste, including polos, dress shirts, and jackets. They also frequently carry Fred Perry, Penguin and Lucky Brand. There is a limited amount of footwear available for purchase, but one shoe brand that Down To Earth keeps in stock is Seychelles, which is certainly affordable for a college student. A new line of clothing that Down To Earth will soon retail for both men and women is Justin Timberlake's line - William Rast. Some pieces from his denim collection will appear in mid-March, so make sure to stop in after spring break because his line is expected to sell quickly.
There is a sale section located in the back, which currently holds many winter items. The early spring pieces have begun to appear in the store, bringing a nice change from the dark winter colors that have recently filled the Hoboken boutiques. Owner Lynda Allarde receives new articles daily and is constantly adding those items to the shelves. Common to many Hoboken boutiques, the most popular sizes of certain items of clothing typically run out. If you are unable to find something in your size, Down To Earth will order it for you.
The hours of business are Monday-Friday 12-8, Saturday 11-7, and Sunday 12-6. If you need a last minute present for someone, no worries - your purchased item can be gift wrapped.
