"Is Nice!" is the only phrase that can be used to describe "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," the controversial comedy starring Sasha Baron Cohen (as Borat) and Ken Davitian (as Azamat). This film chronicles Borat's journey across the United States of America to make a documentary for his homeland of Kazakhstan.
This movie is a lot of things. It is outrageously obnoxious. It is intensely offensive. It is racist, raunchy and rude. But it is also extremely funny, provided you don't take things too seriously. Furthermore, this is one of the year's most intellectual movies, providing a social commentary on the current state of affairs in the United States; many of the scenes were not planned, but rather simply show Cohen (as Borat) interacting with the regular people he met.
Do not see this movie if you are easily offended. Do not see this movie if you do not want to see how perverted a great deal of the United States population is. Do not see this movie if you are easily grossed out. However, if you are not easily offended and have an open mind about social commentary, this is an excellent movie for you. It is playing in Burchard on Sunday at 8:30pm, Monday and Tuesday at 9pm. Final Score: 9/10

"[Borat] is one of the year's most intellectual movies, providing a social commentary on the current state of affairs in the United States."
Such comments seemed to be the general agreement among a lot of the critics when "Borat" was released. (Continued…)
