Senior midfielder/forward Megan Legendre (O'Fallon, Ill.) scored the lone goal of the game as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team clinched its seventh-straight Skyline Conference regular-season title with a 1-0 victory over Manhattanville College on Wednesday in Hoboken, N.J. With one league game remaining this season, the Ducks (10-2-3) now have 18 points thanks a 6-0 mark in conference play. The Valiants (8-4-3) are 4-1-1 in the Skyline and have 13 points with one league contest left.

Manhattanville had a golden opportunity to take an early lead as the Valiants were awarded a penalty kick just 1:36 into the game after sophomore midfielder Audra Clark (Dallas, Texas) was called for a foul in the box. Freshman forward Cybil Robinson (South Lake Tahoe, Calif.), who is the leading scorer for the Valiants this year, pulled her attempt outside the left post to keep the game scoreless early on.

Stevens had two prime chances to score later in the half as junior midfielder Siena York-Carr (Davis, Calif.) found sophomore back Salme Cook (Fairfax, Va.) at the top of the box on a pass off a restart in the 24th minute. Cook's shot hit the crossbar and bounced right down to freshman midfielder Leslie Kallberg (Mission Viejo, Calif.), who sent the ball wide off the net on the right side.

The Ducks finally broke through at the 37:02 mark as Legendre took advantage of a lucky bounce and an uncharacteristic misplay by Valiants' senior goalkeeper Michele Ribeiro (West Hartford, Conn.). On the play, sophomore forward Meghan Tennyson (Folsom, La.) chased after a vertical ball down the center of the field. As Tennyson fought for position against a Manhattanville defender, the ball bounced off her shoulder and towards Ribeiro, who game out of the net. With York-Carr charging hard, Ribeiro was unable to control the bouncing ball as it snuck through her arms and towards the goal. Legendre alertly settled the ball and tapped it into the vacated net for a 1-0 lead.

From that point on, Stevens dominated play as the Ducks out-shot Manhattanville 19-2 in the game. Stevens also held a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Erica Midttveit (Jackson, N.J.) finished with one save for the Ducks. Ribeiro made nine stops for the Valiants.
