Students were electrocuted, named Stevens Institute of Technology President Hal Raveche one of the original care bears and faced off in a variety of challenges at the Delta Phi Epsilon sponsored Battle of the Sexes event.
The concept is simple--a male and female team compete in physical challenges, play games, and answer questions designed for the opposite sex.
What this means in practice however is quite different: guys being asked to stand en pointe and have a pillow fight, and girls doing push-ups and naming the player with the most number of grand slams (who isn't Nilsen - the girls got it wrong).
The purpose of the event was not all for fun, however, "Delta Phi Epsilon contributes to ANAD, the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders, to which all of the profits from the event were donated," Delta Phi Epsilon sister Alicia Mahon said.
Battle of the Sexes is a new idea that was formed by the sisters of Delta Phi Epsilon collectively. "We did the dating game Hookin' Up Again for the past several years ... The idea for [Battle of the Sexes] was just thrown around at a meeting. We all built on the idea ... and then we voted," Mahon said.
Many of the questions and ideas for the faceoff were original, but some were borrowed from the game "Dirty Minds." "[The original ones] were written by a 'game committee' made up by a lot of the sisters," Mahon commented.
