With the opening of the Duck Country competition to all students this semester it is more exciting than ever to go to these much anticipated games. This week saw a hard fought battle in Women's Volleyball against rival New York University. The competition has a much different look this season and its sure to encourage quite a spirited crowd.
The Duck Country competition is now open to teams of ten or more. These teams can consist of individuals from a club, team, or a group of friends. Signing up is really easy. All you have to do is email SAAC@stevens.edu with the roster of your team and make sure you check in with a SAAC representative at each game. There has also been an adjustment of scoring in the Duck Country games. Rather than have a team tally up points as they go along, a first, second and third place are awarded at each game, judged on attendance, (supportive) spirit, half time competitions, and "buddy points" for bringing even more fans to the game. The top three teams from each game get points only so it is very easy to catch up, keeping the competition exciting all year long!
The main focus of the Duck Country game is, of course, the game itself. Each coach was asked to select a game where he or she would really appreciate fan support and encouragement. The fall games are going to be fierce competitions.
