As you walk down Wittpenn Walk, you may notice some posters staked in the ground. The moving poems written on these posters are by cancer patients from the St. Jude Research Hospital. What you may not expect is that these brave patients are children. At an age when most of us were sipping juice boxes and playing on jungle gyms, these children are fighting for their lives.
This past weekend, November 13 and 14, the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at Stevens Institute of Technology hosted one of two Sleeping Bag Weekends for prospective students. Current students were given the opportunity to house a prospective student overnight and show them what it is like to spend a day here at Stevens.
Break dancers from across the country filled Walker Gymnasium on Saturday, November 7 for the 3-on-3 B-boy competition, Ill Skilled Kings 2, presented by Five Elements and New Jersey Dance group, SKILLZ DE ILL. November is Hip Hop History Month and the essence of hip hop was felt as dancers used creative moves to battle their opponents.
The spring budgeting session for RSOs is almost over. The Student Government Association (SGA) is scheduled to vet and vote upon the Recognized Student Organizations (RSOs) requested Spring 2010 budgets this Sunday at 4 p.m. in the Fielding Room. Over the past month these budgets were submitted by the RSOs, cut by the SGA's financial committees and then returned to the organizations.
