Letter to the Editor - George P. Korfiatis

Greetings to all! I am writing this letter as a way of introduction of both myself and the duties of the Office of the Provost and University Vice President at the recommendation of several student leaders and other members of the Stevens Community. I have been a member of the Stevens community since September of 1983, as a Professor in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Ocean Engineering, Director of the Center of Environmental Engineering and most recently as the Dean of the Charles V.

Let me start by saying this: I have always hated Macs. I had the "Windows/Linux Holier than Thou" Syndrome. I thought that Macs were for tools who couldn't use a real machine. If you were using a Mac, in my humble opinion, you were about as computer savy as an Amish person.

I started listening to A Prairie Home Companion on National Public Radio my sophomore year in high school. Reruns came on ever Sunday at 11 am and I would sit on my butt in front of the radio and listen to Garrison Keillor's calm voice as he talked about Lake Wobegon and Rhubarb Pie.
