Davis Hall is one of the newer dormitories on campus, having been built in the 1970s, and the newest of the three freshman dorms. The hall underwent a major renovation in the summer of 2004, and now sports new windows that do a great job of keeping out the elements and per-room air conditioners that can be set by the residents. The bathrooms were also redone at that time, and the facilities have maintained their levels of quality well throughout the years.
Davis Hall is typically split almost evenly between men and women. Men are put on the first, second and fourth floors, while women are put on the third and fifth floors. The individual floors are split into two "halls," north and south sections, divided equally by the center stairwell and shared bathroom facility.
Davis Hall is also the most-sought-after dorm, since half the rooms provide excellent views of New York City year-round.
The combination of all these elements makes Davis Hall the most popular dorm amongst freshmen.
