The Stevens Institute of Technology Computer Science curriculum is designed to get you started into the rapidly-growing field of modern technology.
Computer Science might be the right thing for you if you have a general interest in tinkering with every object in sight. If you'd like to be more specific, you can specialize in other fields, including Cyber Security and Game Design. Major topics in the freshman year course work include an introduction to the general concepts of computer programming, using either the C++ or Java languages, an introduction to website design, and efficient program design.
Special attention is paid to website development classes throughout the curriculum, as the Internet is rapidly becoming a platform for everything from social networks to office suites. Classes are offered in site architecture, programming, and design. Although there is no formal track yet for Internet development, there are courses available that will provide the proper base for serious work.
Cyber Security focuses on the relevant areas of computer security and data control. These include classes in proper secure programming methods, security in network architecture, and an emphasis in cryptography.
For more information, the homepage of the Computer Science department, http://www.cs.stevens.edu/, is an excellent resource.
