On Wednesday, March 5, 2008, Stevens hosted its second semi-annual Media Organization Social in Jacobus Lounge. The event's organizer, Keith Cassidy, summed up his goals for the event, "This event...is for all the media organizations to try and recruit new members, both graduate and undergraduate. It also serves as an event where members of all the media organizations can talk amongst themselves and learn more about the other organizations." The event was a success, even though it was delayed from its original date, of February 22, because of snow.
The organizations themselves were very happy with the event, especially Red Shift's Frank Riccobono, who felt that " events like this are good to increase presence on campus." He added a pitch, that "our deadline for submissions is March 31." The Link's Ilene Banoud, promoted The Link's weekly meetings, "every Wednesday at 2:30," while WCPR's Mike Bocchinfuso promoted the collection of "more than 10,000 vinyl records that students can play during shows," at WCPR. Bocchinfuso added that "[WCPR] is helping organize Bokenstock with SUMAC," while Matt Keyser promoted the "Battle of the Bands, [which] is Friday at 7 p.m. in Bissinger." SITTV's general manager, Lou Simons, was "looking for people to help with our many new shows." Mike Lutkenhouse, Editor-in-Chief of The Stute, said, "this event provided a nice forum for the media organizations to come together and attract new members."
